PLN #3 Revised

In Cara Haycak's book, Living on Impulse,  Mia decides to attempt to steal a shoe from a store, because she believes it is the perfect shoe. This connects to our guiding question,What makes good people do bad things? So far in the book she doesn't seem like a bad person, she just does the wrong things. Mia wanted the shoe, because she thought it was perfect for her sweet 16. Shoes are what grab a girls eye, and these shoes spoke to her. They were amazing for someone like her. She forgot about the security cameras all around the store. Still, even in books there are security guards on the lookout. Mia got caught and thought lying would be the perfect way to get out of it. But why would they believe her, she has stolen before. This was her first time stealing from this store, but the guard remembered her. If Mia is a good person, then why is she stealing? Why is Mia doing this to herself if she has great friends? Does she just want attention from her workaholic mom? Also, why is she only stealing one of the shoes?
